Where can I see the northern lights?

There's only particular places on Earth that you can see the northern lights and they lie in an oval around the arctic. In Britain, you can only see them in the north of Scotland.

There's another oval in the southern hemisphere where you can see the southern lights, which are also called the aurora australis.
