Fireflies look very small compared with the size of the Sun - they look just like spots on the Sun!
The Sun is very big compared with the Earth. The diameter of the Sun is 1,400,000 kilometres and the diameter of the Earth is 12,800 kilometres. The Earth is just a little bit smaller than the letter 'e' in the word 'firefly' on the picture above!
Here is a closeup picture of the firefly pointed at in the previous picture. It is one of the largest fireflies ever seen and has a diameter of 37,000 kilometres. This makes it about 3 times larger than the diameter of the Earth!
