SUMER : Solar Ultraviolet Measurements of Emitted Radiation

SUMER measures the brightness of extreme ultraviolet radiation which is emitted from the Solar Atmosphere. This information is used to investigate how hot and how dense the atmosphere is as well as how the solar material is flowing and moving. Sometimes the speed can be as much as a thousand kilometers per second!!
