Burning up the Sun

You must be pretty good at mental arithmetic, because I assume you just worked out the following:

4,000,000 tonnes = 4,000,000,000 kgs = 4 x 109 kg = 4 x 1012 g

But I remember the mass of the Sun is about 1033g and so it is going to last 1033 / 1012 seconds. That's 1021 secs which is approximately 300,000,000,000,000 years

Phew, nothing to worry about then. So even though the Sun must be the original and best 'gas guzzler' it really does have plenty of 'gas' to last!
