Notes on the Energy Factfile ---------------------------- Note that is is not finished yet! I've tried to use the Sun to illustrate some aspects of energy and energy transport. The user should really start at the Sun's core (fusion) and work his/her way out. The first page energy.html links to a page introducing the concept of energy and kinetic energy in particular. The clickable solar map is split in two ways. Clicking on the name of the object takes you to a glossary link about the object. Clicking on the region of the Sun you are interested in takes you to the relevant Energy Fact File webpage. The fact files really require tailored GIFs etc, something I unfortunately I have not had time to pursue.... You may like to delete links to pages that are as yet unfinished. I can work on them later after launch. I have also suggested places for links to other parts of the site (glossary, etc) F - finished, U - unfinished. F energy.html introduction and clickable Sun Map F core.html fusion F radzone.html electromagnetic energy (should link to SOHO recovery solar panel page) radiation as a means of energy transport F conzone.html convective energy transport U photo.html concept of temperature and it's relation to energy. U chromo.html chromosphere and transition region. U corona.html electrical energy U sunspots.html ? magnetic fields? U chole.html ? U flare.html particle acceleration - kinetic energy and reconnection. F prom.html heat conduction and insulation F gravi.html gravitational potential energy F scales.html an idea of the energy it takes to do certain things. F whatis.html what is energy? intro to kinetic energy F credit.html credits for images/movies, etc. up to date for completed HTML files.
