Initial conditions
To start a numerical experiment we have setup an initial condition.
The physical basis for our experiments are the MHD
equations.
They provide restrictions on how the initial conditions can
look. Normally we are trying to setup a situation where there are
no net forces in the domain and therefore no
reason for changes of the initial situation.
It is a bit like building a sand castle. Just after you have finished it
looks good, vertical walls and sharp edges, but after some time in the
sun the sand becomes dry and starts to disintegrate the surface of the
sand castle.
