X-ray not X-rated

You mean you don't know the difference?

Quite simple really.

An X-ray image is a picture of an object (in our case the Sun) that records the X-rays coming from that object. It's just like the picture from your own camera, but that uses ordinary light rather than X-rays to record the image.

Now those smart ones amongst you, or those who are still awake, will ask "So what is an X-ray picture that they take in hospitals?"

My broken leg doesn't give off X-rays - so what's the difference between these X-ray pictures of the Sun and my hospital X-ray picture of my leg?

Good question - so go and find out the answer!

Oh, and I nearly forgot - what's an X-rated picture? Sorry you need to be 18 before I can even tell you that.
