This is a LASCO C2 movie that shows the Sun in a more active state than when SOHO was first launched. There are many more streamers and CMEs! The Sun will continue to get more active until it reaches the maximum of its cycle after the year 2000. The black and white rectangles on the images are regions where data are missing (ie were not received form the spacecraft).
