Newton was a right old clever clogs. Not only did he realise that apples and our planet find themselves attractive, Newton stated that

Every object in the Universe attracts every other object in the Universe!!

Now this is pretty mind-blowing!! Think about it. We are all very familiar with the fact that when you lift up an object and then let go of it, the object falls towards the Earth. But consider this...

You are probably reading this while sitting on a chair in front of your computer. As extraordinary as it sounds, there is an attractive force between you and your computer!!

However, you will be glad to hear that this attraction is so small that you hardly notice it (and you won't bang your head as shown here!!).
