Astronauts often go on spacewalks. However they are usually attached to their space-craft by some means so that they donot float away!!

This was not the case for Astronaut Bruce McCandless. On 7th February 1984, while wearing the Manned Maneuvering Unit, Bruce floated afew metres away from the Space Shuttle Challenger.

Bruce was travelling at about 29,000 kilometres per hour and became the first ever human satellite!!
