This animation illustrates how CDS is used to build up a monochromatic image. The center panel shows an extraction window from the CDS detector at the location marked by a vertical line in the left panel (image). The right panel shows a line profile extracted from the middle panel at the dashed line. The dot-dashed profile in the right panel serves as a quiet sun reference profile, and was extracted from position x=20, y=50 (marked with a square).
