CDS INSTRUMENT:
At 02:39 UT SOHO Spacecraft Telemetry was lost. Telemetry resumed at low
rate. Analysis of telemetry showed that an ESR had occured and that a warm
startup had been triggered. CDS along with the other experiments had been
shut down and substitution heaters were disabled.
Some time after 06:01 UT, CDS substitution heaters were enabled on the
redundant side at the following values:
     Circuit #62 - 80%
     Circuit #63 - 90%
At 12:04 UT the spacecraft entered CRP mode.
At 16:00 UT a second warm start was triggered on S/C (standard procedure
for recovery from a warm start). At this point, all substitution heaters
were disabled. However, CDS substitution heaters were stuck in the ON
position and thus continued to heat the instrument (effective 100% duty
cycle). Heating continued until ~19:44 UT, when temperatures began to drop.
During this time QTCI1A & QTCI1B both registered Yellow High temperature
limit violations.
CDS substitution heaters on Circuit #63 was enabled at 20:24 UT using a
duty cycle of 90%. Substitution heaters on circuit #62 were enabled at
22:08 UT using a duty cycle of 50%.
CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal.

At 17:38 UT, Duty cycle for substitution heater on COBS circuit #62 and #63
were adjusted as follows in preparation for CDS turn on:
     COBS circuit #62 - 70%
     COBS circuit #63 - 80%.

  CDS Turn On:
  1. All CDS relays were reset at 00:05 UT.
  2. Substitution heaters were disabled at 00:15 UT pripr to turn on.
  3. CDS was powered on at 00:19 UT. CDS performed a nominal power on onto
      processor 2.
  4. CDS substitution heaters were reenabled at 00:34 UT with the following
      values: COBS Circuit #62 = 90%
               COBS Circuit #63 = 60%
  5. CDS was then brought up to STANDBY mode at 01:06 UT.
  6. CDS Doors were closed at 01:17 UT.
  7. CDS returned to SNOOZE mode at 01:24 UT and left in a
      SAFE configuration.
CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal.
DAY PLAN: CDS Recovery.

CDS INSTRUMENT:
At 19:49, the duty cycle for CDS substitution heaters were adjusted to the
following configuration (in preparation for recovery on Sunday, DOY 41):
     COBS Circuit #62 from 90% to 80%.
A Primary event error occured on the Primary Processor memory location at
#800525f3 - this is in a Safe location.
CDHS patches were loaded at 01:30 UT.

CDS INSTRUMENT:
At 14:53 UT, CDS was brought out of SNOOZE mode and returned to READY_BOTH
at 15:36 UT. Due to an error in commanding, patches had to be reloaded on
the GIS. GIS patching was unsucessful for a number tries due to the command
rate still set to 1/7 sec. Once command rate was set back to 1/3 sec, GIS
patching worked correctly. In addition, niether the NIS nor the GIS HV were
enabled at this point due to the NIS and GIS relays still being closed.
Recovery procedures were implemeneted up until running cpt/UPDATE.
CDS Substitution heaters were disabled by the FOT at ~17:40 UT.
The NIS relay was enabled at 17:40 UT and the NIS was turned on and reset
manually.
Doors were then opened with MCU backup disabled at 17:51 UT.
GIS HV relay was enabled manually at 18:45 UT.
Two FULLCCD's were performed at 19:00 UT. After running these test studies
it appears that the study count 24121 may have been used twice.
The science plan was resumed at 20:00 UT.
CDS appears to be nominal at this point.
CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal.
DAY PLAN: CDS Recovery, Open Doors, Science Operations.
