SCIENTIST:
CDS INSTRUMENT:
SOHO entered Normal Mode and Medium Rate telemetry was regained at
~18:30 UT. CDS appears to nominal in STANDBY mode, as expected.
New parity errors were detected in both the primary processor and secondary
  (science) processor memory space.
CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal.
DAY PLAN: Thermal Monitoring.

DATE: 03-Feb-1999
DOY: 34
OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): R. Yurow, C. Maroney
SCIENTIST:
CDS INSTRUMENT:
Performed CDS recovery. While in STANDBY mode the mechanism commissioning
scripts for the slit, mirror, and OPS were performed. CDS was then
returned to SNOOZE mode and a WATCHDOG error was triggered to reboot the
instrument. The coldstart and warmstart procedures were then performed.
Recovery procedures were completed at 20:54 UT. Finally, 5 FULLCCD studies
were run with the door closed to test the NIS detector.
CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal.
DAY PLAN: CDS Recovery.

DATE: 04-Feb-1999
DOY: 35
OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): R. Yurow, C. Maroney
SCIENTIST: A. Fludra
CDS INSTRUMENT:
After the return to READY_BOTH mode on DOY 34, instrument temperatures
continously increased until most temperature values entered HI ALARM.
The apparent cause of the instrument heating up was leaving the spacecraft
substitution heater enabled with a 60% duty cycle.
At 4:09 UT, the duty cycle of the spacecraft substition heater was reduced
to 30% in order to prevent a spacecraft thermal reconfiguration. Telescope
  temperatures subsequently began to drop.
The spacecraft substitution heater was turned off at 16:36 UT.
CDS opened its doors at 17:01 UT.
CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal.
DAY PLAN: First Science.

OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Maroney, W. Hammond
SCIENTIST: A. Fludra
CDS INSTRUMENT:
A parity error was detected in the primary processor memory space.
Since the parity error is in the Two-Transputer module, a CDS reboot
will not be done at this time.
The science plan was aborted at 20:56 UT in order to aid in the analysis
  of the parity error.
CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal.

CDS INSTRUMENT:
A parity error was detected in the primary processor memory space. Since
parity error is located in a safe location, no reboot is necessary.

CDS spacecraft substitution heaters were disabled at 16:05 UT.
Performed CDS recovery. CDS was brought down to SNOOZE mode and a
WATCHDOG error was triggered to reboot the instrument. The coldstart and
warmstart procedures were then performed. While CDS was in STANDBY a
mechanism check was run and all mechanisms appear to be nominal. CDS was
then brought up to READY_BOTH. During the recovery, none of the patches
were reloaded either on the CDHS or the GIS. Recovery procedures were
  completed at 18:58 UT.
Finally, 5 FULLCCD studies were run with the door closed to test the
  NIS detector.
