Young (RAL) CDS INSTRUMENT: Due to problems with the SOC computers, a plan was unable to be loaded. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: At 13:55 UT, PDU-16 went down (cdso7, cdso9, cdsm8 affected). At 13:59 UT, PDU-16 regained power. cdso7 and cdsm8 booted up properly, while cdso9 failed on NFS mounts. One NFS mount was changed and cdso9 was back on-line. It appears that the disk mounted to /cdsd1 failed during the power failure. In order to get the IWS working again, data being written to this disk was rerouted to /usr/local/cdsd1/arch/archive1. A cron job was set up to delete all the files from this directory once per day. DAY PLAN: Science Operations. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: cdso7 was powered down (including tower and external harddrive) to troubleshoot /cdsd1 problems. Problem still exists and HP will need to be contacted (once contract is confirmed). cdso7 was powered up and was able to command to instrument. Loaded modified science plan to start at 18:00 UT.
