DOY: 307
OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Maroney / R. Yurow
SCIENTIST: P. Young (RAL)
CDS INSTRUMENT:
Due to an over-site (on Friday), the weekend science plan ended at 00:00 UT
(DOY 307) and the Emergency study was started at 01:00 UT. At 14:45 UT, the
Emergency study was aborted and a modified science plan was loaded to start
at 15:40 UT.
At 16:03 UT, CUV+CLK violated Yellow High limit (at 13.5168) and returned
to a nominal state (13.48) at 16:05 UT. FLARE_AR/v9 (Oslo study) was running
at this time.

DOY: 308
OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Maroney / R. Yurow
SCIENTIST: P. Young (RAL)
CDS INSTRUMENT:
At 19:48 UT, an enormous Xflare occured. CDS was observing with the GIS
at the time. GIS Detector 2 tripped at 19:52 UT, then GIS Detector 1 at
19:55 UT. Operator contacted Jeff Payne at home. While explaining the
events GIS Detector 3 tripped at 20:15 UT. Because of a station hand-over and
station problems (on the next station) GIS Detectors 1, 2 & 3 remained
safed. Detector 4 raw counts peaked at 12,000 counts, but later subsided.
GIS Detectors 1, 2 & 3 were recovered to parking voltages at 22:06 UT.
GIS Detector 3 HV was set to its operational level (0xC6) at 22:30 UT.
GIS Detector 2 HV was set to its operational level (0xCB) at 22:33 UT.
GIS Detector 1 HV was set to its operational level (0xCD) at 22:42 UT.
GIS study (o_loop) is due to end at 23:40 UT.
CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal.
DAY PLAN: Science Operations.

OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Maroney / R. Yurow
SCIENTIST: P. Young (RAL)
CDS INSTRUMENT:
A new version of FFCAL (FFCAL/v5) was run successfully (for 100 min) over
both sides of the sun (X). The script was modified to run twice to make use
of the remaining time the study was running. The study ended and script
aborted at 17:48 UT.
A Mechanism Lubrication was completed at 19:03 UT.
CDS GROUND SYSTEM:
At ~1:00 UT, cdso9 failed. In the morning, George Dimitoglou contacted
HP to service cdso9. A technician arrived from HP early and replaced the
power supply. At 18:55 UT, cdso9 was up and operational. Power supply
failure was perhaps caused by local lightning storm at GSFC.
DAY PLAN: Science Operations.

CDS GROUND SYSTEM:
A Software Update was successfully completed from RAL.
At ~23:00 UT, The EOF Network problems occured and stopped the distribution
of telemetry files to CDS (and all SOHO instruments teams). Telemetry is
being stored in the FOT (and level 0). Network problem is being worked out.

OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Maroney / R. Yurow
SCIENTIST: S. Chapman, B. Bromage, M. Marsh (RAL)
CDS INSTRUMENT:
A parity error was detected on the Primary Processor at memory location
#80071913: This is in Unused Memory.
Two parity errors were detected on the Secondary (Science) Processor at
memory location #80076cdb and #8000a93b.
CDS GROUND SYSTEM:
Tuesdays plan was imported and XCPT was run. MK_PLAN crashed (what
appeared to be lack of table space). XCPT was run again over less time with
the same result. Operator contacted Andrzej Fludra to review the imported
plan. Andrzej reviewed the plan didn't see anything unusual. Operator
contacted Dominic Zarro and sent him error message. The problem was found
in XCPT with the engineering study QCM. The study was removed and the plan
was run and loaded successfully. The problem is being reviewed by Dominic
and Ron Yurow.
