Yurow SCIENTIST: CDS INSTRUMENT: CDS Temperatures have stabilized to: QTCI1A = 26.01 C QTCI1B = 26.38 C QTCR1 = 24.90 C QTCR2 = 15.71 C QTCR3 = 18.59 C The duty cycle remains at 90% for both substitution heaters. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal. DAY PLAN: Thermal Monitoring. COMMENTS: ============================================================================== DATE: 17-Oct-1998 DOY: 290 OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Haskell / J. Payne SCIENTIST: CDS INSTRUMENT: CDS was switched on at 19:55 UT. The CDHS and EPS were nominal. The MCU was also switched on and the heaters were turned on. They were nominal. The mirror and slit mechanisms were checked out and were nominal. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal. DAY PLAN: CDS Turn on. COMMENTS: ============================================================================= DATE: 18-Oct-1998 DOY: 291 OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Haskell / j. Payne SCIENTIST: CDS INSTRUMENT: CDS remained ON overnight. The commissioning of the OPS was completed succesfully. The Mirror and Slit mechanisms were also exercised. The patching of the CDHS was completed without problems as were the table loads and dumps. CDS was placed into STANDBY Mode and the secondary processor was powerd on. The s/c heater duty cycle was lowered from 90% to 70% for both heaters. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal. DAY PLAN: Commissioning Activities. COMMENTS: ============================================================================== DATE: 19-Oct-1998 DOY: 292 OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Haskell / J. Payne SCIENTIST: CDS INSTRUMENT: The NIS and GIS electrical systems were succesfully commissioned. The GIS HV's were ramped to 3.9KV and showed dark counts on all four detectors. The s/c heater duty cycle was lowered from 70% to 60% for both heaters. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal. DAY PLAN: Commissioning Activities. COMMENTS: ============================================================================== DATE: 20-Oct-1998 DOY: 293 OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Haskell / J. Payne SCIENTIST: W. Thompson CDS INSTRUMENT: CDS was transitioned to READY_BOTH (science mode), and the S/C substitution heaters turned off. Initial NIS science studies (FULLCCD) were performed with the MCP turned off and turned on. Detector fuctionality appeared to be nominal CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal. DAY PLAN: Commissioning Activities. COMMENTS: ============================================================================== DATE: 21-Oct-1998 DOY: 294 OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Haskell / J. Payne SCIENTIST: W. Thompson CDS INSTRUMENT: A NIS Memory dump was performed. The GIS ran a short science study with the doors closed and succesfully sent back stim data. Both the GIS and NIS doors were opened and the first science test studies run. A GIS spectra was also taken on the quite sun at sun centre. All appears nomormal. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal. DAY PLAN: Commissioning Activities. COMMENTS: ============================================================================== DATE: 22-Oct-1998 DOY: 295 OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): C. Haskell / J. Payne SCIENTIST: W. Thompson CDS INSTRUMENT: Nominal. Began the recalibration of the NIS. A parity error was detected in the secondary (science) processor memory space. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal. DAY PLAN: Commissioning Activities. COMMENTS: ============================================================================== DATE: 23-Oct-1998 DOY: 296 OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): R. Yurow / J. Payne SCIENTIST: W. Thompson CDS INSTRUMENT: A lubrication study was completed at 20:30 UT. The secondary (science) processor was rebooted at 21:02 UT. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal. DAY PLAN: Lubrication Study, Commissioning Activities. COMMENTS: ============================================================================== DATE: 24-Oct-1998 DOY: 297 OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): J. Payne SCIENTIST: W. Thompson CDS INSTRUMENT: Nominal Nominal. Science Operations using the DCS were resumed during NRT only. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Fixed emon_logs cron job. Installed plot_qcm. Updated emon and qcm logs. DAY PLAN: LARGEBP2, SYNOP COMMENTS: ============================================================================== DATE: 25-Oct-1998 DOY: 298 OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): J. Payne SCIENTIST: W. Thompson CDS INSTRUMENT: Nominal CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal. DAY PLAN: Limited Science Operations. COMMENTS: ============================================================================== DATE: 26-Oct-1998 DOY: 299 OPERATIONS ENGINEER(S): R. Yurow / J. Payne SCIENTIST: W. Thompson CDS INSTRUMENT: A parity error was detected in the primary processor memory space. As the parity error is in a safe location, no reboot is necessary. CDS GROUND SYSTEM: Nominal.
